Generally speaking, if you need to copy text from PowerShell or Command Prompt, you can do that by holding down the Shift key, using the arrows to select the desired words and then using the standard Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V to copy and paste. While this method should work for Windows 7 and newer, due to registry or settings modifications, sometimes the solution does not work for all users. In this situation, your best bet would be to use a putty interface to copy and paste the desired text to your default text editor.
As the name suggests, CONCPY is a small utility designed to help you copy the text displayed in the console as displayed and writing it to either the clipboard or another file. The first obvious advantage is that you are not forced to copy to clipboard and then to the desired file. Other noteworthy benefits of the tool include the fact that the long lines are wrapped at the right edge of the window, the tab stop characters are replaced with spaces – as in the console – and trailing whitespaces are stropped. It is also worth mentioning that the app is designed to copy from the top left corner or beginning to the location of your cursor.
