Cross Crypt

In order to keep your documents secure, there are different options you can use. However, among the best ones is to rely on encryption algorithms to make sure only you have access to content, and there are an abundance of algorithms you can use. For instance, Cross Crypt comes with some of them, and helps you encrypt plain text with little effort.

Just so nobody else can find the application on your computer and access it to decrypt text messages of yours, the application can run directly from a USB flash drive because it doesn’t need to be installed in order to function. Moreover, runtime doesn’t make any changes to system registry entries, leaving the health status intact.

Everything you need to use to secure documents is found in a pretty intuitive window layout. Half of the section is where input goes, while the other comes with a tabbed structure to access the variety of built-in algorithms. There’s a button to use to encrypt using all algorithms and simply view output by cycling through tabs.

As far as encryption algorithms go, the application lets you secure your documents with a variety of modes, such as Rot13, Reverse, Atbash, Letters and numbers, Caesarian Shift, as well as Hexadecimal values. You can either pick a single one, or convert with all of them. Some are also fitted with options related to generating code, such as Caesarian shift to specify the shift value.

The only downside to the entire operation is the lack of support for existing files. This means that all text either needs to be written on the spot, or pasted from the clipboard. The same goes for saving the encrypted type.

Taking everything into consideration, we can state that Cross Crypt is a pretty straightforward encryption tool you can use to make sure that only you and the interlocutor know what’s inside a specific message. Algorithms at your disposal aren’t abundant, but provide enough variety.
