CSmith

CSmith is a super handy Smith chart program that comes packed with some awesome features. It’s got plenty of upgrades compared to older versions, and if you want to know more about those enhancements, just peek at the help file!

Integration with ELEKTA

One cool thing about CSmith is that it can work alongside ELEKTA, which is a complete information system for electrical engineering. Just keep in mind that the tools in ELEKTA are a bit simpler.

Designing Matching Networks

With CSmith, designing matching networks feels pretty familiar since it works similarly to the traditional Smith diagram. It makes your work easier and more efficient!

Key Features of CSmith

Here are some key features of CSmith:

  • Includes element parasitics

  • S-parameter blocks and transistors available

  • Easy modifying, rearranging, loading, and saving of circuits

  • Export S-parameters and the complete circuit without hassle

  • Perform frequency sweeps and Monte-Carlo analysis effortlessly

  • Display power gain or return loss vs. frequency smoothly

  • Your stability factor, MAG, available gain, VSWR, etc., are all ready for you!

  • You can transform mixed parallel and series RLC combinations easily!

Limitations to Keep in Mind

However, there are some limitations:

  • You get a trial period with only 60 runs.

  • The S-Parameter import functions aren’t included.

  • You can only have up to 8 elements in your circuit (instead of 14).

  • The export feature for the automatically created matching circuit on the first page is disabled.
