However, a lot more variety can be obtained when using third-party applications, depending on the target customization area, or feature. The mouse cursor is one of them, and with CursorBall it can change the shape into different animated bubbles for almost every activity.

Sure enough Windows comes with a built-in manager for cursors, and even has a few themes of its own. However, CursorBall needs to be installed through CursorFX, since it was built this way, and for this particular application. Since it comes in a lightweight package, it can easily be stored on a thumb drive, along with an entire collection of effects, and cursor styles.

Needless to say that it benefits from all standard settings CursorFX has to offer, such as changing coordinate hotspot, toggle loop animation, frame rate, and more. All styles, effects, trails, and sound can be previewed, and edited before actually applying the cursor set.

The package contains cursors for almost all states of a cursor. These are all animated, transparent bubbles, with slight differences depending on the state. These include standard select, help, working in background, busy, precision select, handwriting, unavailable, resize, move, button, text select, alternate select, and more.
