Plagued by nightmares about her mother’s tragic death many years ago, Kate visits a therapist in an attempt to put these memories to rest once and for all. However, things take a sudden turn for the worse when she discovers that the monsters in her dreams are quite real and fully intent on killing her as well.

Dark Angels: Masquerade of Shadows is, at its core, a classic hidden object game, but it incorporates some additional gameplay elements that make things a lot more interesting.

Most importantly, the dialogue scenes are interactive, as you are often required to select from several responses, based on the action you feel would be most appropriate. Granted, these choices do not have a major impact, but their inclusion adds some much-needed flavor.

Also, the puzzles and hidden object scenes you come across are quite clever and do not simply recycle existing concepts.

The game’s story captures your interest from the very beginning, and things only get more exciting once you start uncovering some of the secrets behind the strange occurrences.

Not only that, but you will even find yourself traveling back in time, in an attempt to thwart the demons’ plans before they become too powerful.

Visually, Dark Angels: Masquerade of Shadows certainly does not disappoint, although the character animations could have been a bit more fluid.

The soundtrack is more than adequate and will be a pleasure to listen to throughout the game, but the voice acting not quite up to par.

Overall, Dark Angels: Masquerade of Shadows is an enjoyable hidden object game that manages to bring some innovation to a genre that often seems to be lacking in originality. It offers an interesting story, great graphics and clever puzzles that are very diverse and fun to solve.
