The main job of this update client is to ensure that your host name’s IP address stays fresh all the time. It checks your network’s outgoing IP address and compares it with your host names. If they match, great! No changes needed. But if they don't, DDNS Updater steps in and updates the outdated info in your DNS account.

Dynamic Domain Name System Support

If you have your domain name with a Dynamic Domain Name System, your IP address might change often. This can make accessing network services tricky. That’s where DDNS Updater comes into play! It makes sure that your host name is always linked to the right current IP address.

How Does It Work?

This software checks the input URL for the external IP address, then matches it against the current IPv4 or IPv6 settings. If everything matches up, you’re good to go! But if not, DDNS Updater will update the URL for whatever DDNS service you're using. Just remember, you'll need to provide a username and password for updating!

Set Your Own Time Intervals

You can also set how often you want DDNS Updater to check that URL—just pick a time interval in minutes. The software will keep polling at that interval to see if anything has changed with the IP address. Plus, there’s even a Force Update option so you can make it check every few hours on demand!

Email Notifications and Activity Logs

If you want to keep track of what’s happening, DDNS Updater lets you save an activity log in a local file. You can even set up email notifications! Just enter details like SMTP server address, port number, username, password, and where you'd like those emails sent. You can also add an email subject line for easy sorting later on.
