While it might sound like a move cowboys pulled back in the Wild West, this application going by the name DeadEye hasn't the slightest of ties to the old American ways. This doesn't mean it's not lightning quick, as the name suggests.
With this specific small program, one can correct the failures of quick screen snipping actions that have plagued Windows10 since version 2004. It's a great fix for something that might have bothered you quite a lot without you even noticing it.
The main problem with Windows10 when it comes to screenshots is that after version 2004, the "Win+Shift+S" key combination has been compromised. It's not that it does not function, but there seems to have been some delay added to the action, which ultimately means that if you're trying to grab a shot of something that happens real quick on your screen, you'll have to waste a lot of time until you get it right if you do get it right, as a matter of fact.
This application comes to the rescue, fixing this slight lag by replacing the screenshot app included with Windows. In terms of functionality, there's not much to discuss. The little there is, has to do with the settings that can be adjusted via the System Tray button.
What one can adjust has to do with the placement of a grid over the captured area, having the frame center marked, showing the selection dimensions, and increasing or reducing text size. You can also enable or disable autostart from here, as well.
This application will most likely be of use to those who find themselves quite often taking screenshots while using apps and programs, attempting to catch very specific moments that can't really be controlled in terms of development speed. While there are no extra features, just like the developer points out, the idea behind this program is to fix, not improve what is already offered by Microsoft.
DeadEye is a program that seems to take on the role of a fix for the Windows implemented screenshot mechanism. It's especially great news for those of you that need to have high-accuracy tools at their disposal when attempting to capture images of whatever is happening on their machine.
