Activities you perform on the long run might be pretty difficult to remember, even if you write them down. However, there are various specialized applications like DeskCalendar which comes as a desktop tool with options to create custom events of which you’re reminded, and even view a chart of the entire month.
A cool thing about it is portability, allowing you to not only check it out from the moment download is done, but also to have it stored on a thumb drive in case you want or need to use it on the go. More than this, it doesn’t leave any traces on the target computer, because registry entries are not modified, so the health status remains intact.
On launch, a window shows up on the desktop, acting as a side panel, mostly because it sticks to the side of the screen. This is a comfortable trait, but you have the liberty of moving the window around. It’s split into a couple of sections, one which is an interactive calendar, while the other is where all tasks are displayed.
You can easily jump to any day of the month, and navigate through a set of dedicated controls. Each day holds its own tasks, which can’t be removed from the list, but this doesn’t mean you get extra notifications even if the task expired. What’s more, this helps you keep a record of all events, which can be useful on the long run.
Creating a task requires little effort. Apart from an exact date, you also need to specify a time range, and add a text tag for easy recognition. The chart view displays all tasks in the current day, and how they’re spread across hours. This chart can be printed out on a sheet of paper.
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that DeskCalendar wants to help you better organize your activities, making it possible to add multiple tasks on a day, which cover entire hour ranges. It’s easy to use, and the task chart can be printed out.
