What is Desktop Clipboard?

Desktop Clipboard is a cool little gadget made just for the Yahoo! Widget Engine. It gives you a simple text editing area where you can jot down notes, whip up to-do lists, highlight important events, and even set reminders while you work on your computer. Keep in mind, it doesn’t have a lot of fancy customization options.

Even though Yahoo! Widget Engine is no longer available, you can still grab this software framework and its widgets from Softpedia. It's still up and running!

How It Works

Once you quickly add the widget to your Yahoo! Widget Engine dock, it pops up in its own window. This window has a word processing area that looks just like an actual clipboard!

Features of Desktop Clipboard

You can type away, cut, copy, and paste text right there. Plus, you can create selections or delete text as needed. The best part? There’s no limit to how much text you can enter!

No Saving Options

But here’s something to remember: there’s no saving or exporting feature built into the app. If you exit the program without copying your info somewhere else, it’ll be gone forever! So make sure to copy everything over to a real text editor if you want to save it.

Customization Limitations

You won’t find any customization settings in Desktop Clipboard either—no changing background colors or font styles here. The only settings available come from Yahoo! Widget Engine itself. You can keep the window on top of others or send it behind other panels, ignore mouse dragging events, and adjust how see-through the window is.
