It’s always a good idea to keep some fun elements on your desktop, and there are tons of small tools which aim to bring a little joy to your desktop as a means to pass the time. Just as there’s the saying that the walls have ears, DesktopEyes can equip your workspace with multiple pairs of eyes to watch your every move.
Once installed and launched, a pair of eyes shows up on your desktop. Curiosity might push you to interacting with it, and you immediately notice it tracks your cursor. The object itself can be freely dragged across the desktop and placed in a suitable position. There’s also a new tray icon added which serves as the main control panel.
Apart from movement, a set of eyes comes with its own set of options which can be accessed from the context menu. As such, it can be set to stay on top of every other window, have transparency level set, mouse fade effect whenever hovering the cursor over the object, or closed.
On the bright side of things, you’re not limited to a single pair of eyes, and you can just as easily populate the entire desktop with big or small eyes watching your every move. More than that, there are a few ways in which to add a new set of eyes.
One method is to simply clone the existing one and drag it over in a new spot. Another method is to create a new random pair, since you can customize shape and size by dragging edges around. But most of all, it’s pretty fun to instantly add 10 new random pairs, and then some more. Just be careful not to slow down your PC too much, because a crowded desktop puts a strain on your CPU.
To sum it up, DesktopEyes might not actually have a great deal of practicality except helping you find the cursor, but it’s sure fun to fill up your desktop with either random, or custom pairs of eyes to watch your every move.
