DesktopNote is a cool alternative to the basic Sticky Notes app that comes with Windows. If you find that app a bit limited, DesktopNote packs a lot more features and it’s lightweight too! It's open-source, so it's definitely worth checking out.

Features of DesktopNote

When you start up DesktopNote, you'll see a note pop up right on your desktop. You can easily resize and move this note around to wherever you want. Plus, anything you type in gets saved automatically in the root folder, so there's no need to stress about losing your important info.

Customizing Your Notes

You can switch up the default font with any style you like, and there are tons of options for changing text and background colors. This app lets you create bullet points or numbered lists too! You can also change the text size and use styles like bold, italic, underline, or even strike-through!

Pasting Images

If you're into visuals, DesktopNote lets you paste images right into your notes. Just a heads-up though: resizing big pictures can be a little tricky!

Docking Your Notes

Another neat feature is that if you drag your note to the edge of the screen, it’ll dock there automatically! This way, whenever you need it, just hover your mouse over that spot and boom—your note is right there.

Limitations on Note Creation

However, one downside is that you can't create more than one note at a time. So if you're trying to keep track of several projects or tasks at once, this might be an issue for you.

Your Data is Safe!

Your notes are all stored in the root folder too! You can move this folder anywhere—even to another PC—and still keep all your info safe. Just remember that not all settings will transfer over.

A Clean Experience

The best part? Unlike Windows Sticky Notes, DesktopNote doesn’t clutter up your taskbar. It stays out of sight while still being super handy when you need it!

A Bit More Work Needed
