There are only so many hours every day, and so many tasks to perform. On the other hand, earning your living on a computer has its benefits, such as specialized applications which make it quite easy to create a schedule. For instance, EasyList comes with a set of tools with which to structure your activities, and track them for increased performance.

The main window enlists several choices, based on the number of tasks on your daily schedule. This ranges from 3 to 15 tasks, but you can always change list types and entries. Most operations bring up different windows so you don’t feel overwhelmed by a variety of features in a single window frame.

Tasks requirement fields don’t ask for a lot of effort on your behalf, so you just have to write down the name of the item in question. Apart from the name field, there’s also a checkbox to easily specify if a task is complete. Unfortunately, the application doesn’t keep a log of events to make it easy to revisit, or generate a report of past activities.

Apart from the regular task display, the application also comes with a notes editor. These are wrapped around classic window frames, with the possibility to keep more notes on your screen. Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of customization involved, in the sense that note titles are generic, while font uses a standard style.

The application wants to offer some degree of privacy, and attempts to do so by setting up a password-protected list of activities. Whenever a window is closed, you’re asked whether to close the application entirely, or return to the main window. It lacks time tracking options, while closing the application terminates the process, and doesn’t send it to the tray area for further management.

Bottom line is that EasyList wants to bring a little order into your everyday activities, but the overall approach on the situation is rather confusing. Notes can be created, but not saved, while customization is not included to make it easy to tell them apart. No reports can be generated, and you’re easily tempted to look for alternatives.
