Archives are of a lot more types than the regular ones you use on a daily basis. Needless to say that they depend on the type of data they hold, and some can only be opened by specialized applications. One suitable example in this regard is EasyMyp, which helps you browse through contents of MYP archives.

The type of files the application works with by default might not be encountered too often, as these were native forms of holding large arrays of information for Warhammer Online, which eventually got shut down several years ago.

Installing the application is not a mandatory step, and you can take it around on a thumb drive to use on other computers as well. The visual design is pretty intuitive, with the main window structured in two panels to allow easy navigation through your computer to find files of interest, while the second panel shows either the archive tree view, file list, or changes.

Target files usually contain large arrays of info, with index headers every 1000 entries. General details are displayed in the upper panel, such as estimated number of file, the actual number, total uncompressed size, errors, named files, extracted files, and extraction errors.

You can grab just about any details you need. Extraction can be done based on your selection of fields, with a file list letting you easily go through all of them. Moreover, this tab allows you to modify existing entries, and even add custom rows. A search function lets you initiate two operations for target name, and location to look in.

Apart from selection, or entire content, the application lets you extract only changes. For instance, you can generate a pattern file, test filenames for patterns, extract new files, or only those which got modified, all of them saved to a custom location.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that EasyMyp was originally born out of Warhammer Online fans requests to create game modes. Even if the game got shut down some time ago, the application can still be fully used to view, and extract selective info fields from MYP archives.
