EasyStructure

Easystructure is an oldschool application designed to help developers or coding enthusiasts analyze the structure of any C source file. In short, the application displays the structure of the source code in a two main ways: either a flowchart or a hierarchical tree view.

This makes the application very helpful for those who are looking to study C source files for documentation purposes, especially those who are looking for a way to include comments in the source code.

The main advantage of this tool is that it allows users to browse, copy, and even print the code of any parsed C source file. Whereas flowcharts are displayed with the original source, the tree view offers a more practical view in a vertical manner. The tree view is actually a vertical view version of the Jackson block graphical methodology.

With the help of Easystructure, developers can thoroughly analyze tree nodes which can be expanded to show any included statements of various types such as jump type, or return type. The parsed sources can be reformatted and converted to XML representations. The flowchart views can also be printed or copied to the computer’s clipboard in WMF format.

The software provides users with the option of customizing the flowchart’s appearance. For example, users can customize the margins, as well as the block and font size.
