EMIShredder

Dedicated to software developers and created in the Visual Studio .NET C# program, EMIShredder is a lightweight and free software package that can be integrated into projects involving file and folder shredders.

It provides end users with the possibility of permanently eliminating information, in order to prevent third parties from acquiring sensitive details using data retrieval tools.

The application supports multiple security algorithms, which can be applied by taking into account the preferred level of safety. These are Simple, British HMGIS5 BaseLine, Russian GOSTP50739, US Air Force 5020, British HMGIS5 Enhanced, US DOD 522022M, US Army AR38019, German VSITR, Canadian RCMPTSSITOPSII, US DOD 522022 MECE, Bruce Schneier, Peter Gutmann Lite, and Peter Gutmann.

File and folder shredders are typically used to enhance the level of security when it comes to important information that people wish to keep as secrets, such as personal photographs, videoclips or documents, entire software applications, and any other types of files.

Depending on the encryption algorithm applied as well as the file or folder size, the wiping process may take a very long time to finish, but it will maximize efficacy against data recovery software.
