Emsisoft Clean

Due to their nature, security-related applications deeply embed into the system and might not be easily removed. That is why developers of such products also release dedicated uninstallers that can identify and delete leftovers much easier. One example is Emsisoft Clean (Emsiclean).

As the name implies, Emsisoft Clean is specifically designed with a single purpose in mind: to assist Emsisoft Anti-Malware or Emsisoft Internet Security users to remove these products from their computers completely.

However, please note that this app should only be used in case of a failed attempt to remove the products the regular way (from the dedicated section in the Control Panel).

Once started with administrative rights, Emsisoft Clean starts scanning your computer for files that were left behind after the uninstallation process, displaying them all in a simple list. Users are advised to close Emsisoft Clean and use the automatically generated log file to ask for support from Emsisoft and advice on how you can safely remove the remaining files.

Alternatively, they can continue and delete the files at their own risk. However, using this app requires them to agree to a disclaimer that exonerates Emsisoft from any responsibility in case of damage in case they decide to use Emsisoft Clean without the guidance of an expert. Once the files are deleted, the computer must be restarted for the process to be completed.

While it is not recommended to use it as a replacement to the standard uninstaller, Emsisoft Clean does succeed in deleting leftover files after an incomplete removal of Emsisoft Anti-Malware or Emsisoft Internet Security.  Nevertheless, if the regular uninstallation process runs smoothly, users have no reason to go for Emsisoft Clean.
