Ericsson Phonebook Editor is a handy tool for anyone looking to edit their contact list on older mobile phones. As the name suggests, this software lets you tweak the contacts stored either on your SIM card or directly in your phone's memory. It’s perfect for those vintage models like Sony Ericsson (T10S, T18S, S868, A1018), Siemens (S35, C25), and even some classic Nokia phones (6120, 8210, 8310).
Even though it’s no longer officially supported by its developer, if you own one of those old phones, this app can still be super useful! One great thing about it is that it doesn’t need any installation. So there’s no fuss about messing with your PC registry.
The interface is designed to be simple and easy to use. You’ll see a straightforward table showing each contact's name and phone number. To get started, just connect your phone to the computer using a serial port (COM1 to 8). Adjust the connection speed and set up the flow control for the serial port device driver.
Once everything is set up and saved, hit the 'Activate connection' button! Your phone should pop up automatically. The app reads both your SIM card and phone memory to show all contacts in one place. From there, you can edit existing entries or add new ones right into your phone book.
If you right-click inside the grid, a menu pops up where you can copy, move or delete contacts. Plus, there's an option to back up your entire contact list as a text file! You can also update either the SIM or phone memory by just uploading changes or replacing everything entirely.
It’s important to note that Ericsson Phonebook Editor only works with select older mobile models mentioned earlier. If you're rocking a modern smartphone, you might want to check out other options!
