Executable Icon Changer is an application that enables you to seamlessly replace the icons of your programs with other images. It offers support for EXE and ICO format only.

The tool has a couple of basic options that can be easily tackled by casual PC users with no experience in OS customization software.

Provided that you have .NET Framework installed, you don't need to set up anything else. The entire utility's packed in a single executable file that you can save in any part of the disk and just double-click to launch. It doesn't add new entries to the Windows registry or create additional files on the disk without your permission.

As far as the interface is concerned, Executable Icon Changer adopts a standard window that contains a few buttons. All options are made visible, and you can get started by locating the EXE file of a program with the help of the file browser, since the drag-and-drop method is not supported.

In the following step, all you have to do is find a new icon with ICO format to assign to the program. It's possible to preview the image as well as to apply modifications with one click. There are no other notable options provided by this tool.

Although it hasn't received updates for a long time, it worked smoothly on newer Windows models in our tests, without causing the OS to hang, crash or prompt error messages. As we expected, CPU and RAM usage was minimal, so it didn't hog system resources.

On the other hand, it doesn't make room for customization. For example, it's not possible to edit icons or apply the same icon to multiple EXE files at the same time. Nevertheless, you can test Executable Icon Changer for yourself, since it's free.
