Exon SDK

Exon SDK comprises a set of tools and components ready to assist developers create 2D or 3D games using their favorite programming language, be it Visual Basic or C#. It bundles libraries that help them access DirectX 11 in Microsoft's .NET framework.

The software development kit is designed to be used as a core framework for game engines, targeting both beginners and experienced developers. Moreover, it should serve as the nucleus of other prototypes or even frameworks supporting DirectX 11 platforms.

Exon SDK provides a .NET based development tool set that mainly focuses on Visual Basic and C#. Its purpose is to take care of low-level operations and tasks, easing the development process.

Thanks to its integrated API, Exon SDK can be used for both 2D and 3D designs. It makes use of Direct3D 11 and heavily relies on the HLSL Effects framework for 3D rendering.

Exon SDK can combine mouse and keyboard actions and comes with options for playing sound effects and music (WAV and OGG formats are supported), aiming to provide the final user with a realistic experience. It can automatically precompile assets so as to ensure smooth game loading.

Exon SDK can be used with Visual Studio 2010 or later, including Express editions. It enables you to work on the non-graphical game resources, as well as graphical elements that make up each scene. You can easily edit the internal properties of the game, such as the window size, manage the audio engine and the game content.
