Fantastic Worlds Free Screensaver

The massiveness of deep space has always fascinated us as human beings, since we have no idea what could be out there, and it is also visually alluring. Fantastic Worlds Free Screensaver is an app that will showcase what happens when the beauty of space meets the human imagination.

From a functional point of view, the app is nothing more than a slideshow of space-themed digital art.  But the beauty and quality of some of the images more than make up for this apparent simplicity. It is understandable if you may find yourself with your mind drifting off between stars and comets. Luckily the screensaver's built-in clock helps you keep track of time, even if time is relative in space. If you wish to admire the images for a while longer, or if you wish to shift from one photo to another quickly, you can do it by modifying several settings from the OS' built-in screensaver manager.

While you cannot argue that strictly from a stylized point of view the images are wonderful, the quality of the images is a bit lacking, especially when viewing the screensaver on a wide-screen 1920x1080 monitor.  Not only do the pictures show signs of pixelation, but the app is also not optimized to support wide-screens, thus leading to horizontal stretches.  While on other screensavers this wouldn't be much of a problem, the fact that planets are the main element of the images amplify this horizontal stretch effect, making the photos very unappealing.

As long as you aren't running wide-screen 4K monitors, then Fantastic Worlds Free Screensaver is an app you will surely enjoy having on your screen.
