FF Password Exporter

Since the release of Firefox Quantum, exporting passwords stored by the browser has become quite a bit more difficult. Many extensions designed for this purpose no longer work, and no official alternatives have been released thus far.

FF Password Exporter can offer a solution, as it is an open-source application that works with the latest versions of Firefox and enables you to export all your stored passwords to CSV or JSON.

All major browsers come with an integrated password manager, but unlike most third-party solutions, they tend to make exporting your data rather difficult. While there are plenty of extensions and utilities designed to extract data from Firefox, many of them are not compatible with Firefox Quantum.

FF Password Exporter, however, has no problems extracting credentials from the latest editions of the browser. If you’re in a rush, you can even get the version of the program that doesn’t need to be installed and get the job done in a jiffy.

If Firefox is installed on your PC, the application should detect your user profiles and list them so that you can select the right one. If you are using the portable version of the browser, however, or if there is some other issue, you can always navigate to the profile’s location manually.

Once you’ve found the profile, you just need to select the preferred export format (CSV or JSON) and, if one has been set, provide the Firefox master password. You can then choose where the generated document should be saved.
