FTP servers can store large files and folders remotely, allowing you to access them from any computer, regardless of your location. To do so, you might need a dedicated FTP client. FireFTP provides users with such an application, which can connect to any FTP server, allowing quick file transfers between the local computer and the remote server.
Like it is usually the case with such applications, FireFTP features a double-sided interface, similar to that of popular file managers. One panel allows the browsing of directories on the local computer, while the other displays the files stored on the remote server.
You can easily delete, rename and remove files, or create new folders and, evidently, download files from the server or upload data to your FTP server. Local files can be opened or run using the default associated application.
The site manager is the one that stores information regarding all the remote hosts and their IP addresses, as well as the user's credentials, the remote and the local paths, and the transfer mode to use (normal or passive). For security purposes, the connection is closed by FireFTP after a period of time.
Items you choose to download from the remote FTP server are placed in the queue list. If entire folders are downloaded, FireFTP can reveal a progress bar to let you monitor it.
FireFTP relies on a multi-threaded engine to allow fast transfer speeds. It can connect to any FTP server to download and upload files.
Please note that this application hasn't received updates in the recent years. Although it worked properly during our tests on latest Windows versions, incompatibility issues might occur.
