The name FixEOL stands for Fix End-Of-Line. FixEOL was designed to be a simple utility to fix the end-of-line characters of text files.
It may be used: - to fix files with mixed end-of-file characters, such as those produced by some utility programs which have been ported from Unix to Win32 in a careless way, and - to convert from and to PC, Unix and MacIntosh formats, in order to share text files among different systems.
You may drag files from the Explorer and drop them over the FixEOL window, or select them in a standard dialog box or indicate them in the command line used to start FixEOL.
You might even install FixEOL in the WindowsSendTo directory to have the opportunity to send files by using the Send To entry of the context menu that opens when using the right button in a folder or Explorer window.
It is possible to fix files containing any mixing of the three following end-of-file character sets: - CR+LF as in PC (DOS and Windows) files, - LF as in Unix files, or - CR as in MacIntosh files.
You may choose for the fixed file any of these three conventions.
