Fix MSE

Fix MSE is a lightweight and portable application that can quickly restore the settings of Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) to their default values.

It can be used by all types of users, even the ones with limited or no experience in software programs.

Since there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the executable file somewhere on the hard disk and click it to run.

It is also possible to save Fix MSE to a USB flash disk or similar device, in order to run it on any machine that has Microsoft Security Essentials installed.

The interface is based on a regular frame with a simple layout, which contains two buttons for exiting the app and quickly fixing MSE's registry entries if they are faulty. This task is automatically done, so user assistance is not necessary.

The straightforward piece of kit is low-demanding when it comes to CPU and RAM, so it's not a concern to the computer's overall performance. It has a good response time and does not interrupt normal user activity.

We have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation, since the app did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Unfortunately, Fix MSE has not been updated for a long time, and it does not support latter Microsoft Security Essentials versions.
