The application comes with a simple and straightforward interface that consists of a single window, making it suitable even for less tech-savvy users. In fact, while there are ways to prevent spying, editing the OS settings is not something every user wants to do, especially since it can break the functionality of the operating system.

You can get started by hitting the Check Privacy Settings button, an action that is designed to analyze the current settings and highlight the rules that make your OS vulnerable for unwanted data collection. The vulnerable points can be easily fixed by hitting the Fix Privacy Settings button.

On a side note, the developer included a Restore Backup option, which you can access in case you are unsatisfied with the results. Then again, let's not forget that it is highly recommended to create a backup before making changes to the settings.

According to the developer, the idea behind the tool is to verify over 130 rules that are directly related to privacy and data protection. However, the tool offers the possibility to extend or change these rules by modifying the XML file.

Take note that for the current release, you cannot eliminate any of the rules in the XML file and all of them are going to be checked. However, the developer of Fix Window 10 Privacy plans to include an editor that enables you to select and deselect privacy rules in a future release.
