Holding a presentation requires not only public speaking skills, but also good time management skills to make sure you manage to get the message through to your audience in the given time. While some succeed in conveying their ideas without struggling, others tend to forget about the time, especially when their presentation is in full screen mode, and they cannot see the clock on the screen. FlyClock is designed to provide a solution to this issue with a countdown timer that helps you stay on topic and get notified when entering overtime.

FlyClock displays a semi-transparent countdown timer on the desktop, whose controls and settings are shown whenever hovered. You are presented with a tutorial the first time you run the application, one that helps you get started and explains how everything works.

Practically, to start the timer and to be able to access and change the application’s settings, you must first open a PPT (PowerPoint) or a PDF file and run it in full screen mode. The timer starts automatically at this point and, what is more, you can also access its settings to adjust or restart timing. You can also pause and resume the timer whenever you like.

When the countdown ends, you enter overtime and are notified with sound and graphically on the screen. These settings can be customized as you please and, what is more, you can configure FlyClock to automatically quit the full screen or display a black screen when the timer reaches zero.   The Settings window allows you to set countdown timers with a specific duration for every PPT or PDF document.

What is interesting about FlyClock is that it allows remote control, which helps you manage your presentation timer using your phone. To toggle remote control on, you just have to click on the designated button and scan the QR code using your phone’s built-in applications (a QR code reader might not be available by default on your phone, so you might have to install one). Another method is to simply copy and paste the control link   For the remote connection to work properly, the phone and the computer must be on the same network or share a hotspot.
