Folder Styler is a lightweight software application designed with a single goal in mind: to help users lock folders that contain sensitive information by setting up passwords.

Folder Styler gives you the possibility to specify the directory that you want to lock using the built-in browse button or drag-and-drop support, choose between different encryption modes (e.g. PFX), and set up passwords.

The tool automatically changes the directory’s icons with a locker. It doesn’t display notification messages letting you know that the access to the selected folder is blocked, and it simply locks it. In order to unlock the directory, you are required to drag and drop the folder into the main window and specify the correct password.

Tests revealed that Folder Styler carries out a task very quickly and leaves a minimal footprint on system resources. It would have been useful to see support for a virtual vault where all locked directories are stored and hidden from prying eyes.
