Folders Sequence Creator

A neat thing about it is that you don’t even have to go through the effort of installing it, because it can run from the moment download is finished. This only works if .NET Framework is installed on the target computer, but modern Windows iterations come with it as a default feature, so it’s not that much of a concern.

Running it brings up a compact main window, with several input fields where you get to set all rules to create a sequence of folders. Accommodation is a walk in the park, even though there’s no built-in help manual.

There is quite the variety when it comes to the type of folder sequence to create, with a drop-down menu letting you pick the one you need. These range from simple alphabet enumerations, combination of different characters and symbols, date related rules, numbers, but you can also pick a custom sequence.

If you do, another window is brought up, but this method can take a bit of time. This is because automation is lost, and you need to write down all folders you want to create, inside a list. You can have them hidden by default, or choosing to add prefix or suffix, options you find in the main window as well.

Unfortunately, you only get to create root folders, with no built-in option that allows you to include sub-directories. With all options, and rules configured, the only thing left to do is pick the creation path, and hit the generate button, getting them ready in the blink of an eye.

To sum it up, Folders Sequence Creator comes with good intentions, but only if you need to create folders sequences on a single level. Multiple methods are at your disposal, and you can even take the time to manually create a sequence. It would have been useful to be able to add sub-directories, at least in the customization window, but deserves a try overall.
