Saving you documents as PDFs always seems like a good idea; you know the style will always stay the same, and anyone wanting to edit your content without your permission might not have such and easy time doing it. Of course, the best way to actually edit PDFs is by using the Adobe Acrobat suite, but what if you can’t really afford it and you need more control over your documents?
One thing you’ll often want to do is merge more PDFs into one single document. For this operation alone, you could use Free Combine PDF 4dots.
The program’s interface is extremely intuitive. All you have to do is drag and drop the files and then click Combine PDF. You can rearrange the files in the list, thus choosing the order in which their respective content will be displayed in the new document. Unfortunately, this is all the control you have over the PDFs; for example, you can’t choose to merge only specific pages.
Also, make sure that you don’t use documents with restrictions (unless you know the exact passwords), otherwise you might not be able to open the new PDF.
One interesting feature is that Free Combine PDF 4dots can be integrated into Windows Explorer and accessed from the context menu. Simply right-click while selecting at least two PDFs and then click on the new Combine PDF option. If you this integration make sure you select it during the installation process.
While this is a feature that can save you a lot of time, it may still not be enough to make the program a worthy office tool. Free Combine PDF 4dots does the job that it promises, but there are already many other free PDF mergers that seem more versatile and have more useful features.
