Free PDF Text Reader

Free PDF Text Reader is a software with a pretty self-explanatory title - it allows you to read the text of PDF documents. This means that you cannot view images and tables of PDF files with the help of this program.

The tool comes with a simplistic and easy-to-navigate-through interface in which you can open a PDF document via the file browser (the "drag and drop" method is not supported).

You can go to the next or previous page, or jump to a particular one, copy the displayed text, as well as save it in the TXT format.

You can view all pages in a single one, print text, enable word wrapping mode and view metadata (e.g. PDF author, title, subject, keywords, date of creation and modification). And that's about it!

The application takes up a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, includes a well-drawn help file with snapshots (although the interface is highly intuitive), supports several keyboard shortcuts and has a very good response time. It didn't freeze or crash during our tests.

On the other hand, there is no search function available, you cannot change the text font and size, and Free PDF Text Reader doesn't recognize all characters found in other languages besides English. We recommend this tool with reservations, mainly to users who prefer a straightforward PDF reader.
