It’s a pretty bad idea to use a home computer for hosting online content, especially if it can count as a lot of used disk space. FTP servers usually help store files, but it can be a struggle to find the one of interest. Luckily, specialized applications like FTPSearch give you the possibility to quickly look up items of interest on more servers at a time.

After a short while spent installing the application, you’re free to launch it and check out the set of features. Everything is kept organized in an intuitive interface, with several panes used to store the list of servers, as well as detected results. Requirement fields are the first you encounter, while trigger buttons quietly await your command in a side panel.

Needless to say that you need to write down the FTP server address, as well as the user name and password to connect with, with additional options to log in anonymously, and whether or not to keep the connection passive.
