Gerber Viewer is a handy little app that lets you see Gerber and Drill files. Plus, you can print them whenever you need to! Pretty neat, right?
If you're scratching your head over the term 'Gerber,' don't worry! It’s just a type of image used in the printed circuit board (PCB) industry. These files show all the cool details like drill holes, masks, layers, and legends for PCBs.
The cool thing about Gerber Viewer is that it’s free and super easy for anyone to use. You don’t have to be a tech wizard to figure it out! And since it's portable, you can stick it on a USB drive and use it on any computer without messing with that computer's system settings.
The app has a pretty basic look which makes it easy to access. But hey, sometimes simple can be too simple! The interface could definitely use some sprucing up.
You can add files easily through its menu. There’s even an option to scale your view! Want to print? Just hit print right there on the spot! Plus, if there are layers in your image, you can manage them from a built-in dialog and delete any layer you don’t need.
Now, let’s keep it real—Gerber Viewer could really use some upgrades. The user interface could get a fresh new look, and adding features like zooming or panning would make life easier. Export options would also be sweet!
One last thing: this utility hasn’t seen updates in quite some time. So, we might not see any new features roll out anytime soon.
If you're ready to try out Gerber Viewer, head over there and check it out!
