glTFast is an awesome extension for the Unity engine. It lets you use GL Transmission Format (glTF) asset files easily! The cool part? It’s fully compliant with glTF 2.0 specifications, making it super helpful for both new and existing projects.
This extension works with all the major render pipelines—Universal, High Definition, and Built-In—on every platform. So whether you’re working on a mobile game or a fancy PC project, glTFast has your back!
The best part? You can customize how it behaves based on what your project needs! This includes downloading files, loading them, generating materials, instantiating objects, accessing data from the glTF scene, or creating loading reports!
A quick heads up: glTFast uses custom shaders that you need to include in your builds to make sure everything works right. If you forget to add them even though they look good in the Unity Editor, you might end up missing some shaders or variants when running your game.
If you're concerned about missing materials, one workaround is to create placeholder materials for all the feature combinations you plan to use. Just drop those into the Resource folder of your project!
