HashToolbox is a lightweight app designed to help you check the integrity of your files. It's super easy to use and mainly focuses on calculating hash codes for your files without any hassle. Plus, it’s a great way to make sure that the files you’ve downloaded are legit. If something has been changed or messed with, the hash will be different from the original, and this tool can help you spot that!
When you launch HashToolbox, you'll see a black CMD window pop up, but don’t worry! It’s just there for show. Soon after, a simple little pane will appear where you can select your file and see hash results. There’s a single “Select File” button along with eight rows for all the different hash types available.
The best part? To calculate the hash of any file, all you need to do is select it! In no time at all, you'll get hashes generated for all listed types. The eight types include MD4, MD5, SHA1, SHA224, SHA256, SHA384, and SHA512. You can easily copy and paste these hashes wherever needed!
If you're ever unsure about a file's legitimacy after downloading it, HashToolbox has got your back! The hash will differ if anything has been tampered with.
Now let’s talk about some downsides. Unfortunately, HashToolbox can’t batch process applications all at once. But don't worry! A simple workaround is to open multiple instances of the app and generate hashes for two or more files simultaneously. Since the process is quick and doesn’t take long to load at all, working with several instances won’t slow you down.
In summary, HashToolbox is a handy tool that allows you to quickly calculate hash codes so you can verify that your files are safe and sound!
