Health by the Numbers is a super handy software app that helps you figure out your BMI (Body Mass Index), RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate), and how many calories you should eat. It's perfect if you're thinking about starting a weight loss plan or just want to keep track of your current weight.
Before diving in, remember this app isn't a substitute for advice from a nutritionist. It’s always smart to chat with a professional if you're considering big changes to your diet.
This app is designed for Windows 8, 8.1, and 10. You can install it on any computer that runs these versions, including touch-enabled devices. Plus, you can grab it from the Store! The cool part? You don’t need an Internet connection to use it, so feel free to open it up even when you're offline!
The main screen is user-friendly. Just enter some details like your gender, age, height (in centimeters), weight (in kilograms), and how active you are—choose between "little or no activity", "moderately active", or "very active". After that, hit the "Calculate Health Numbers" button at the bottom left.
The tool will show your BMI score along with its classification (like underweight or overweight) and what that means for your health risks. You'll also see your resting metabolic rate in calories per day and how many calories you should aim for daily.
One downside? It doesn’t give extra info like what each activity level really means. Also, note that it only uses the metric system—so if you're used to feet and pounds, you'll need to find an external converter for those measurements.
