HostsOptimizer is a small and handy tool that helps you change the order of things in the Windows Hosts file. It's super easy to use!
You won’t need to install anything. Just place the app folder wherever you want on your hard drive, and double-click the executable to get it going. If you're on the move, you can even save a copy of HostsOptimizer on a USB flash drive or another storage device. This means you can run it on any computer without any fuss—no installers needed!
This tool is great because it doesn’t mess with your Windows registry or create extra files on your hard drive. Once you're done using it, there’s nothing left behind.
The interface is simple and straightforward, consisting of just one window where you can access all settings easily. You can point it to your Hosts file location if it's not in the usual spot, decide how many host names show up per line, and choose how you'd like to save the file (options are ANSI, UTF-8, and UTF-16).
HostsOptimizer also allows you to back up your original Hosts file. This is handy if you want to go back to default settings later. Plus, you can include localhost entries and remove comments quickly. Optimizing your file only takes a click of a button!
This app runs smoothly without slowing down your PC since it uses very little CPU and RAM. We’ve tested it thoroughly, and we didn’t face any problems like crashes or error messages—HostsOptimizer really gets the job done.
