Once you install it, Hott Notes pops right into your system tray. From there, you can whip up new notes and tweak some settings. The first time you launch it, you'll be asked if you want to turn on hotkeys and what actions you'd like when you double-click the tray icon. Pretty cool, right?

You can jazz up each note with different background colors and choose custom fonts in various sizes. Plus, Hott Notes lets you center your text, adjust opacity levels, and even set alarms for specific dates and times. Want to add some sound? The context menu on each note has loads of options! You can edit or clear the content, hide a note from view, keep it on top of other windows, show the title bar, or copy text to your clipboard. There’s even an option to crumple up (archive) the note if you're done with it!

This app comes with an archive manager so you can see all your active desktop notes along with deleted and archived items. And no worries about losing anything—your notes are backed up automatically! In settings, you can also have Hott Notes launch when your computer starts up or change how it looks.
