What is HWSEdit?

HWSEdit

HWSEdit is short for Hammerwatch Save Editor. So, as you might have figured out, we’re diving into the awesome world of this 2013 hack-and-slash action adventure game. This video game is pretty cool, but like any adventure game, it comes with a lot of collecting and RPG-like stuff. If you're like me and don't have loads of time or patience, this program is going to be a lifesaver!

Why Use HWSEdit?

It’s super simple! The main focus here is on general and upgrade-related details. If you’re just starting out, like I am, you’ll want to stick around the General tab. Here, you can change your character's name and class, add extra lives, lower your registered deaths, and even play around with health values, money, and mana. Plus, you can pick a potion to link with your character.

Edit Multiple Players

The great thing about this program is that it lets you edit more than one player on the same system! You can add some cool modifiers too—think infinite lives or double damage! You get to decide how everything plays out.

Save Your Progress

You can save your edited files as XML for later tweaks. Once you're done making changes, HWSEdit helps turn any compatible XML file into HWS format. This means even more customization options for controlling your character in the game.

Is HWSEdit Right for You?

HWSEdit is such an interesting app! It’s one of the best save game editors around because it’s flexible and user-friendly. I’ve used it a couple of times myself and really think if you're looking to enjoy more of the story without getting too caught up in the RPG aspects of the game, this is perfect for you! Just remember to create a backup save game first; there’s always a chance of losing progress when using these apps.
