Hydra is a web browser that runs on the Trident engine, which is the same one used by Internet Explorer. It’s got some cool features like an RSS reader, a YouTube downloader, bookmarks, and even security settings. Plus, it offers auto-form options and some handy FTP tools.
This tool has a ribbon-like interface with a tabbed menu and several sidebars for history, bookmarks, and RSS feeds. But here’s the catch: the layout can feel a bit cramped and not super easy to navigate. You might find yourself looking for things!
The Back and Forward buttons are pretty essential for browsing, right? Well, they’re tucked away in the Home menu. So if you want to access other options like Edit or Favorites, those buttons disappear. It’s not ideal!
On the bright side, you can open multiple tabs at once! Plus, you have the option to refresh any page automatically after a set time—how cool is that?
Hydra also includes a powerful bookmark manager. You can keep all your favorite URLs organized by category and group them as you like.
If you enjoy watching videos offline, you can download them from YouTube right onto your computer! There are also JavaScript functions available and an easy mode for hiding advanced features.
You can collect parts of webpages using copy/paste and merge them into one page. Additionally, Hydra allows you to import your Internet Explorer favorites easily. Need to keep track of tasks? There’s a calendar and to-do list included too!
With Hydra, blocking ads and popups is possible! You also get anti-phishing protection to keep your browsing secure. And when you're done browsing? It can clear your history, cookies, temporary files—all at exit!
You can install extensions or use mouse gestures for quick actions like going back or exiting the app. If sounds bother you while browsing—no worries! You can block background sounds or set Hydra as your default web browser.
Hydra comes packed with features that help you browse safely online. However, it could really use a design update to make everything more user-friendly.
