Hypoinput is a handy little tool that helps you manage and edit text expansions. So, what does that mean? Well, it's all about the content that pops up automatically after you type specific text. The cool part? This app doesn't even have an interface! It just hangs out in your System Tray, ready for action whenever you need it.
Once you install the app, you'll need to launch it. Doing this creates two important files: Settings.ini and TextExpansions.json. These files store your general settings and all your text expansion content. If you accidentally delete one of them, no worries! Just relaunch the app to create new ones.
The TextExpansions.json file is where all your text expansions are saved. Feel free to open it up and edit directly if you're comfortable! Of course, you can also add or delete expansions using the GUI editor that comes with it. Just keep in mind that editing has to happen inside the JSON file itself. Oh, and remember: fields are case-sensitive! Make sure to save the file using UTF-8 encoding.
This program supports Unicode characters, which means your text expansions can get really creative—think emojis and special characters galore! Plus, Hypoinput lets you use unique triggers for these expansions. You're not stuck with just lowercase letters; if you can type it, you can use it as a trigger.
