A whole lot of opportunities were born along with the evolution of technology. Art can now be made on the computer as well, with it even equipped with different branches. One in particular is strictly tied to computer use, namely ASCII art, and you’re able to create such creative items with applications like Image to Text Art.

It takes only a little while to make the application functional, but before you do, it’s a good idea to check whether or not your PC is fitted with .NET Framework. One it runs, the main window shows up, with most of the space being empty, because it’s where pictures are shown.

Unfortunately, you’re not able to load files by simply dragging them over the main window, so you need to rely on the built-in dialog. What’s more, only one picture can be processed at a time, whereas supported file formats let you work with JPG, GIF, PNG, and BMP.

The picture is shown in the main window frame, but the size can’t be changed, and neither can you zoom. On the other hand, there’s an option to have size automatically adjusted according to screen and picture resolution. Moreover, if you want to process more pictures, this can be done in multiple active instances.

Export options may not be abundant, but enough to prove a point. As such, you get to generate a HTML file, fitted with colored fonts, plain TXT with ASCII code, as well as TXT with UNICODE characters. Sadly, you can’t configure the set of characters to use, nor any other options for that matter, nor is there the possibility to save as picture format with characters.

All things considered, we come to the conclusion that Image to Text Art is a pretty straightforward application that can be used to almost instantly convert any picture into several formats containing ASCII art. Although it feels like a rough product, lacking various basic and advanced features, it can come in handy for simple processing.
