iTunes Bar is a handy little widget made for the Yahoo! Widget Engine. It lets you control your music playing in iTunes with a sleek, thin bar right on your desktop. This means you can keep the tunes going without getting in the way of what you're doing on your computer!
Getting started with iTunes Bar is super simple. Just install it and you're good to go! To make it work, just make sure iTunes is running. You can move the bar anywhere on your screen using your mouse, which is pretty cool.
This widget lets you pause songs, skip tracks, or go back to previous ones—all with just a click! Plus, you can easily adjust the volume right from the bar.
A secondary window pops up along with the main one. It shows off the cover art of the song that's currently playing, but if it's not your thing, you can hide it too. Want to look up lyrics? You can do that online directly from iTunes Bar!
You can enable repeat or shuffle modes and even change how the widget looks by selecting different skins for its interface. If you'd like, iTunes Bar can automatically add artwork and disappear when iTunes isn't running.
If scrolling text isn’t for you, no problem—just turn it off! You also have options to hide metadata like artist info or track ratings. Plus, there are settings to configure keyboard shortcuts and adjust how transparent the bar and artwork are.
The best part? iTunes Bar won’t slow down your computer at all; it's light on system resources. We found it responsive during tests—it didn’t freeze or crash at all!
Just a heads-up: this widget hasn’t seen an update in quite some time and may not work well with newer versions of iTunes.
