Java Reminder is a super simple tool made for the Yahoo! Widget Engine. It gives you a friendly nudge to grab a cup of coffee every day at 3 p.m. How great is that?
This little gadget doesn’t come with a bunch of confusing settings, so it’s perfect for anyone, even if you don’t have much experience with software. Just pop it on your screen and let it do its thing!
The interface is designed as a small frame that you can move around wherever you want on your screen using your mouse. And guess what? It’s inspired by the Java logo, which makes it look pretty cool!
As we mentioned earlier, there are no settings to tweak. This means you can’t change the default notification time. But hey, sometimes keeping things simple is just better!
This handy tool comes with some features from the Yahoo! Widget Engine itself. You can set it to stay on top of other windows or below them, ignore mouse events, and even stop it from being dragged around. Plus, you can adjust its opacity from 20% to 100%, depending on how visible you want it.
The best part? This tiny utility won’t slow down your computer at all! It uses very little CPU and RAM. In our tests, we didn’t see any error messages pop up or anything like that; it didn’t freeze or crash either.
Unfortunately, since the Yahoo! Widget Engine project has been discontinued, Java Reminder won’t be getting any more updates in the future.
