Keyboard Monitor

Compatible with Windows 7 and Vista, Keyboard Monitor is a desktop gadget that monitors your typing and shows statistics in real-time, namely the total keystrokes, along with the current, average and maximum speed. It comes in handy to all users who want to test their dexterity.

The interface is made from a small window which can be moved to any part of the screen to keep it in sight at all times, regardless of the program you're currently working in.

It automatically starts monitoring your keyboard activity, showing the number of total keystrokes since uptime, along with the current, average and maximum speed, measured in kps (keystrokes per second).

The current kps counter can be paused. As far as customization settings are concerned, you can disable Keyboard Monitor from remembering counters and saving them on shutdown, immediately reset the counters, as well as save and load counters.

In addition to these options, it's possible to change the frame's size and opacity level, hide the app's name and copyright mark from the window, assign a keyboard picture (60x47 pixels), or restore this setting to default.

The background color can be personalized for the title, keystrokes, keys per second, speed, maximum speed, error messages, version number, and copyright label. These colors, together with all settings can be reset to the factory configuration anytime.

Unsurprisingly, it had minimal impact on the computer's performance in our tests, running on low CPU and RAM. We haven't come across any issues as far as stability is concerned, since the tool didn't hang, crash or prompt error messages.

To sum it up, Keyboard Monitor offers a simple and efficient method for measuring your keystrokes and typing speed, and it can be seamlessly handled by all types of users.
