What is Kill Watcher?

NetWatcher

NetWatcher is a handy tool that helps you manage your network connections. One cool feature lets you hang up calls to the NetWatcher window, which makes it easy to kick off current sessions using hotkeys. You can interrupt anyone's session or even all of them at once!

File Status Colors

When you're using NetWatcher, you'll notice that files open for reading show up in green, files meant for writing are in violet, and newly created files are highlighted in red. There’s also an option to set up black and white lists. By default, any user on the black list gets disconnected automatically. Plus, you can choose to disconnect all users except those on the white list.

User Connection Sounds

You can even associate sounds with user connections! This way, you’ll know right away when someone connects.

Service Statistics

The app displays stats for both SERVER and WORKSTATION services on your local system. There’s a compact mode where the NetWatcher window pops up with just the current connections when you use a hotkey.

Active Connections Overview

This section shows all your active connections and open files. As soon as a file is closed, it automatically moves into the History section. The colors again help you see what’s going on: dark blue for reading files, violet for writing, and red for newly created ones. Also, shared resources appear here in brown.

History Log

Your connection history is stored in a log file that makes it easy to keep track of everything. You can limit its size based on how many clients you've had connected; after reaching this limit, it either renames or cuts the log file according to your settings.

Shares Management

The shares section lists all resources on your computer. Through a simple context menu, you can temporarily hide any resource by closing its share while keeping its settings saved in an .ini file.

User Options & Settings

In the options menu, you'll find all adjustments for NetWatcher along with kick/keep/popup/skip/ping user lists. You can easily add users to these lists or set restrictions based on various shares.
