What is Kryptel Lite?

Kryptel Lite is the free, lighter version of Kryptel. This easy-to-use Windows program helps you encrypt files and folders, keeping them safe from prying eyes. It has a bunch of simple options that anyone can figure out!

Installation Made Easy

When you install Kryptel Lite, you can pick your preferred interface language. Plus, there’s an option to add it to the Windows Explorer shell. This makes encrypting, decrypting, verifying, and shredding files a breeze.

User-Friendly Interface

The program uses straightforward wizards with a classic look—nothing fancy here! To get started with encryption, just choose the name and location for your output container (it uses a standard EDC format). Next, you’ll select the files and folders you want to encrypt and set up your password.

Access Control

Once you've encrypted your files, they can only be accessed from that encrypted container. Don't worry; they’re moved there instead of copied. You can explore this container and decrypt it using Kryptel anytime!

Program Settings

Kryptel Lite lets you tweak some settings too! You can change default icons for Kryptel files or ask it to keep the original source files after encryption. There’s even an option to check data integrity after decryption through the file’s context menu.

Limitations of Kryptel Lite

Now, keep in mind that many features are only in the full edition of Kryptel. However, it does its job well—encryption and decryption are quick without hogging system resources. We didn’t run into any problems during our tests; no crashes or annoying error messages!

A Decent Free Tool
