Those of you who are very familiar with GitHub probably know all about gists. For those of you who do not, in just a few words, "Gists" are a service offered by GitHub which allows you to share snippets and notes.

That said, Lepton is a modern-looking, Electron-based piece of software that allows you to create, remove, edit, organize gists directly from your computer's desktop, without having to use a browser towards achieving that goal.

The gist client boasts a distraction-free and well-organized user interface, therefore, getting to grips with this app should not pose any types of problems, regardless of your computer experience.

It should come as no surprise that, once launched, the utility asks for your official GitHub credentials for authentication.

Start off by adding a new gist, and you are bound to discover a few of Lepton's useful features. For example, all your gists are automatically grouped by languages, on the left side of the main window. You can also add custom tags and titles to better organize and further expand the search capabilities, but please note that tags must be separated by commas.

The application also provides you with a smart quick-search feature, readily accessible from the app's Gist menu. You should also be aware of the fact that Lepton is fully capable of working with Markdown files by automatically rendering them.
