Lmx Converter is a lightweight utility that provides a convenient way to convert Nokia landmark files to other formats that can be used with other programs, like Google Earth, for instance.

Generally speaking, LMX or Landmark Exchange Files are commonly used by Nokia to store information related to GPS or descriptions of landmarks. The data contained in these files include name, description, category, coordinates or address, the latter two allowing the display on a map.

While it may vary based on the Nokia Symbian phone, you should be able to grab the file from Category - Landmark or Application - Location - Landmark. In the last Landmark folder, you can select the desired file to export and use the Send from the dedicated menu to choose the new name of the file along with an optional new name for it.

Provided that you successfully managed to get the LMX file from your Nokia phone, now you can easily convert it to other formats. The application comes with a small, single-window interface where you can input the source file, specify the format and the output directory before you hit the Convert button.

Lmx Converter can convert to four output formats, namely KML,GPX, GeoJSON and LMX and you can use the output directory for the new file. You can easily take it from here and import it in the corresponding application or access the Open Folder if you decided to place it in another location.
