Lock&Rest is a lightweight Windows application designed with a single goal in mind: to help users lock the computer for a user-defined time.
It can be used as a parental control measure for restricting your children’s access to the computer or whenever you need to leave the PC and prevent other users from accessing your sensitive data.
Lock&Rest sports a clean and simple layout that allows you to configure the dedicated parameters with just a few clicks.
The program features a password protection system for making sure unauthorized users cannot access, modify, or uninstall the utility.
What’s more, you can make Lock&Rest run at Windows startup for the current user or for all users, and lock the system for a user-defined period of time (in minutes).
Other important features worth mentioning are represented by the possibility to repeat the locking sessions at a custom time and automatically receive a notification before starting the locking process.
During the locking process you are not allowed to access the Task Manager. Since it doesn’t require much knowledge to work with this program, even rookies can configure the settings with minimum effort.
During our testing we have noticed that Lock&Rest carries out a task quickly, and no errors showed up throughout the entire process. As it would be expected from such a small utility, it remains light on system resources, so it doesn’t hamper computer performance, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality.
To sum things up, Lock&Rest offers a simple software solution when it comes to helping you take a break from the computer. It can be easily configured and installed by all types of users, regardless of their experience level.
