Heavy industries all rely on computer programs for accurately designing parts, coordinates, or performing complex calculus for tasks. It’s possible to create the blueprint for nearly any kind of object, and MITCalc - Internal Spur Gears provides the necessary functions to define every aspect of spurs and export under CAD file formats.
One first note is that this isn’t a stand-alone application, so Microsoft Excel needs to be installed on your computer. Functions are presented through a series of pages organized inside a spreadsheet. Cell values are already fitted with the appropriate functions and formulas to make things work from the first input.
The spreadsheet takes your through a series of pages in which to define or select the materials used in the project, the coordinates used to build spur designs, as well as the calculus section.
The core functions is to help calculate and check geometry and strength in spur gearing with straight and helical toothing. This applies for internal, external, and gear rack toothing.
Dynamic and static coefficients of safety can be calculated here. Complete geometric parameter calculus is also possible, along with safety checks, design of exact axis distance, supplementary calculations like temperature rise or shaft designs, and more.
Drawing is automatically performed based on the provided values. It supports both 2D and 3D CAD systems, making it easy to export under popular formats for more processing.
